Old Town
Old Town was Lansing’s original downtown. After falling victim to the post WWII exodus to the suburbs, the neighborhood was neglected until a group of artists began revitalizing the area in the 1970s. These days, the tireless efforts of entrepreneurs, residents, volunteers and the Old Town Commercial Association have turned the neighborhood into a haven for boutiques, creative businesses, restaurants and some of the best festivals in the state.
I have called this neighborhood home for a long time now, and my shop would never have opened anywhere else. It’s a community like nowhere else I have ever been—and I’m so thankful for my fantastic neighbors, who are really family. If you’re looking for a great way to spend an afternoon or a weekend, round up the troops and come on over. There are all sorts of wonderful places to eat, shop and enjoy art! And if you want to get more involved with the neighborhood, we invite you to become part of the growth and restoration that is taking place in Old Town by joining our neighborhood commercial association (the OTCA) as a member, sponsor or volunteer! --Summer
